YAY !!!

Mike also noted how much he has enjoyed watching the XWord Muggles Forum blossom. Thanks again to Brian Mac!
Yay! I'm excited for you. I can't believe you've been waiting patiently for so long. I would have been whining after a week!

I wonder if someone out there is enjoying a WSJ mug with no idea what treasure they happened upon...

I won mine in June 2017 but it got lost in the shuffle. After a few reminders, it arrived in Dec 2017, but it was a double-sided "Wall Street Journal- Read Ambitiously" without the Crossword Champion tagline. :(
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Oh, man. I'm about as timid and nonconfrontational as one can get, but that would have made me live up to my given name (yes, I'm a Karen.) I'd be demanding to be recognized as a CROSSWORD CHAMPION!! :-)

The mug I won in late October 2017 was just like yours, without the “Crossword Champion” wording. Looks like they were between shipments at that time. I’m just thankful that I didn’t get someone’s used coffee cup.

I won mine a few years ago just a few months after I discovered the WSJ meta puzzles.

If you see my user picture I have my mug proudly displayed! WSJ sends a mug and a certificate. My WSJ user profile shows both, but I don't post there anymore since this forum came up after WSJ forced membership to post. The first one they sent me was the Read Ambitiously one mentioned above. I posted this on my WSJ profile and about 3 months later I got one that said Crossword Champion. My guess is that Mike Miller saw that I had received the wrong mug and sent me a proper one. Thanks Mike!

It is all luck however IMO. I got my mug when over 1000 people had the correct answer. That was rarer back then.

I have to say that my "Read Ambitiously" mug got broken a while back when someone else was using it, but my "Crossword Champion" mug still gets regular use when a want a bigger mug.

I won for the May 1, 2020 puzzle, "King Me"

As with many winners, it involved a good amount of luck, since there were about 1000 correct entries.

Due to complications related to the pandemic, my mug did not arrive until 11 August, but here it is!

I finally received my mug last week! About 12 weeks after I won it for "Head Count"/TALLY. It came with a nice little postcard that reads:
Congratulations!
You're a WSJ
Crossword Champion.
We hope you enjoy your celebratory mug.

I don't belong on this list/am not worthy. But my avatar photo says it all...

For slightly more explanation, I am of the "My Spouse Rolls Their Eyes At Me" variety of Meta Puzzler, and she had this mug made for me as a Christmas present 3-4 years ago. I've never quite parsed out whether it was cruelty or deep love and understanding...but it's a pretty good mug. LOL.

I'm an MGWCC 2019 GROUP Gold winner! This means I co-solved quite a lot of the puzzles. Much more fun. "Ruin My Weekends" is very appropriate.

I am relatively new to metas - but I did win a subscription to the Inkubator puzzles from Matthew Stock at "Happy Little Puzzles" for Meta #2 this month!

I was very excited, and am enjoying the inkubator puzzles!
- Just puzzling it out here in Delmarva :D

You also won my latest MMM, "Down at the Mall," but haven't yet responded as to what prize you wanted: a) a Blarney Rebel Band CD, b) a Utica Club keepsake or c) a $15 donation I will make to a charity of your choice.

Oh, so sorry... you were too quick to skip over the Blarney Rebel Band CD, so the deal is off. JK, as the kids say (I think?). Sent you a PM with the choices.

This is the mug we got for solving all 22 of Will's puzzles last season. I think it’s fitting that his personal note was written on graph paper…….cuz he’s a science guy, you know.
