Well, I gave it one last shot before checking the nudges - and lo, I finally saw the first step. It was quite a slog though to get to the answer as I had to negotiate a maze to get there. But I am off the couch.

Solved a couple of months ago during testing (probably with some guidance) and solved once more during the last couple of days. Don't ask me when; I'm on vacation!

Ah, that was the inspirational moment I mentioned on the Tuesday Muggle Zoom, @woozy. :D
Delusions of Isaac Newton, are we having?

Or is there Abura something I should recognize? Or Deknoc? Or Tunococ? Or am I to know specific beaches? Mlap? Anilatac Acob or Utek Acob?
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Finally off the couch.
Great meta from the Cap’n! Restored my confidence for the WSJ puzzle starting tomorrow. (And boy did it need restoring!)

The correct answer to the title: Cubs wins, I hope.

Ahoy Muggles!

The meta answers are "DELIVER" and "REVILED" - two words that are "semordnilaps" or words that spell other words when spelled backward. There were 7 other symmetrically-placed semordnilaps among the grid's Down entries, and when spelled in the "up" direction, these 7 entries became words that matched the clues of 7 other entries in the Down direction (see below).

Reveal Grid and Isaac.jpg

Reveal table Semordnilaps.jpg

The first letters of the 7 Down entries (in grid order) spelled "DELIVER" (something I hope this meta did), and the reverse spelled "REVILED" (something I hope this meta was not!).

Thanks for solving, everyone!

Until next time,
Cap'n Rick

Ok, I got this finally! I knew what had to be done and finally did it. This was really amazing construction to me and fun to do.
