I must be missing the fun. I find Trail Mix puzzles difficult (they're the only ones where I use pencil instead of ink, at least in part), and when I solve them, there's no smile of recognition.

I would imagine that they're also hard to construct. It's what Patrick Berry is amazingly good at -- seeing words in letters going in all different directions and sequences.

I found it helpful to put all my entries in black (erasable) ink, but then I used a color pen to highlight the Trails entries so I could see what was what.

It’s definitely a bit of a slog, but satisfying!

Enjoyed this one, with the exception of one of the answers, which you normally see with a different prefix. (Hope that’s not a spoiler.)

I only do his puzzles that have a big reveal at the end of completing it - kind of like a reward. His box puzzles, candy canes, picture frames, sage puzzles and many others do that.
