WASHINGTON POST-THE LONG AND THE SHORT OF IT

Hopefully, this is a trend for the holiday season; Evan’s Sunday WaPo puzzle is again a meta. As was the past meta that Evan provided, this one is probably a week 2, maybe 2.5 puzzle. As always, it is very well done with a nice aha moment.

Argh. I like it, but so far, I can't get past the first few steps.

UPDATE: I must have been tired. It was right there. I solved it. Good puzzle!

Needed a nudge to make it to the end, but a worthy puzzle.
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Nice. I was thinking, this is good, but what would be *really* impressive is if he had ... oh, he did.

Super puzzle as usual. His offerings are always so clever and so solvable even for a plodder like me. I too got caught in the "What? OH my gosh THAT!"

I wanna be a real Meta constructor when I grow up....
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
