Huh, interesting. I found -- am finding -- those ratings to be switched. Love your metas in general... very cerebral, very pgw-ish (if you weren't a member when Peter Washington (@pgw) was publishing every week, you missed out. He was one of my favorites.benchen71 wrote: Thu Oct 20, 2022 5:39 pm If anyone needs a meta challenge if they felt like they completed the WSJ too quickly, I have two meta puzzles currently on the go:
This week's MOAT: Building Onto (on the harder side)
This week's MEOW: Isn't It Ironic(ally Named) (on the easier side)
It would be great to see some new meta-solving recruits find their way over to these other sources of meta fun!

And the count? Tutu, of course. Thank you, thank you; I'll let myself out.

This is going to be a crowded weekend at the beach.

Is there anything you'd like me to talk about next week? Old jokes? Favorite movies? I'm open to suggestions.
Old jokes it is, please!

Quick solve this morning... maybe 20 minutes start to finish, grid & meta. Wild, two weeks in a row! Great puzzle. On shore.

Ashore for the very first time! Been trying now for a couple of months. Pouring a Mount Gay.

On shore--last night. I had just CREpt under the covers when an idea leapt into my brain. So, of course, I headed downSTairs, turnED on the light by my chair, and quickly CARved out the answer. Boy, was I overthinking this one (but that is one of my life mantras). Then is was bACk to bed. It is early, so I will tap into our cARAfe of coffee and make myself a homemade mocha. What an amazing construction!

Made it to shore! I knew what to use, just not how right away. After seeing page 4 Thursday afternoon I was feeling the pressure. Happy to be on what is likely to be a crowded shore this week.

Ashore. Too bad baseball has been over for me for a while since the Red Sox didn't make it to the postseason.

REMINDER: Our weekly Zoom4u will be, as usual, at 4:30 pm Eastern Time today. Despite @The XWord Rabbit's prediction of a paucity of rabbit holes this week, @BarbaraK has already suggested that the hares are out there running the bases. So, grab some peanuts and Cracker Jacks and don't strike out. The Friday Zoom Sessions are always a home run! Whether you have solved or not, all are welcome to spend some time today with other muggles. I look forward to seeing everyone!!
