Great puzzle so far, and it looks like even the meta will make me smile! Can't wait!
I'll eat some 14-A in the hopes that some inspiration comes to me! I'll be chewing on this one (and the 14-A) for a bit. Wish me luck!

I didn't say this before but this was a really cool mechanism. Thanks for the puzzle.

Wow. I didn’t even see the rocks. I found the boats and noticed that the letters to their left spelled out NAUSEA.

I also missed the rocks but managed to guess the answer. I feel bad that I missed the eloquence of this puzzle.

My own brother tried it out and he didn't see the rocks either. Good thing this isn't literal or we'd have had a lot of beached watercraft! Fortunately, all got there safely.
Hey, like the ads for all the lotteries that want to suck your $$$ -- (cheery announcer): "So many ways to play!!
The spoilers mentioned a bit of a backstory where one of the first versions of this puzzle dealt only with the rocks, no boats. But my entries were a little too ambiguous and DrTom and Josh had some suggestions that led to this one. In the earlier version The title was going to be: Between a Rock and a Hard Place. I won't tell you what the answer was going to be just in case I find an appropriate way to use it someday!
