Saved for this morning. No Google needed, as there was a logical way to get there. I did confirm one thing before submitting though.

The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Just checking in to report that I’m on shore. Grid gave us more trouble than the meta.
Been here in Sarasota FL this week for the International Dragon Boat races. Wife got a bronze medal for one race. Other teammates in the “Senior” division got 3 golds and 2 silvers. (So far.) Not much time for puzzling.
But haven’t been able to send emails, so I will send in my answer tonight when I get home to my computer. Sent emails are just sitting in my phone’s outbox for some reason.
Was able to download the MGWCC, but I’ll vent my frustrations over the oh-so-clever clueing in that forum.

How hard can it be?
Not hard but tricky, I say.
Toes in silica!

One world. One planet. One future.

Correct. Both names have some logical connection to the constituent parts.

I don’t think this puzzle is all that easy. It’s more that many long time solvers got it quickly because, as some old commercial said, “We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two.”
Don’t forget Isaac’s Last Call Zoom tonight if you need help or want to help or chat with others. I’ll be there if I can, but can’t guarantee it.

If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Ashore! Grid gave me some trouble. Wasn’t able to look at the Mets until ergcat got here today. Must say it wasn’t as easy for me as for her but a nudge or two helped me out.

Nice boost to the solver self-confidence. I enjoyed it. Not too easy, not TOO hard.

Finally on shore..the first step was so obvious, it was driving me crazy...but the tide went out and I waded ashore.

I clearly have step #1 but I'm struggling to find the next step (or steps).
The grid was nasty for me and involved an unseemly amount of Googling. I'm not proud of it.

I'm ashore. The grid was really difficult for me, so I thought I'd never find the meta solution. Then it came to me quickly.

Done and done Friday, after returning from a totally enjoyable trip to Williamsburg/Newport News with friends. The Mariner's Museum https://www.marinersmuseum.org/ costs $1, and possibly the best dollar I've ever spent.
Reading some posts, some trepidation on whether I have the right solution. Other posts, maybe I'm good. Will find out in a few hours.

On the beach finally. Took way too long to see it.
And yes, I had to use google for both the fill and the Meta.
I have to credit my wife, Melody, for brainstorming with me. Would not have solved without her help.
Two cabernets, please. One for Melody. one for me.

Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

It took even more Googling, but Yay! I am on the beach.

This was a fun puzzle. Got it pretty easily once the grid was filled. On shore.
