Long time lurker -- finally kept my New Year's (2024!) resolution to join this group. I've been doing (or at least trying to do) the Friday WSJ metas since 2016. And I won a mug in 2020, in the depths of Covid. I think that's how I found this group -- a friend who did/does the metas showed me a screen shot of the announcement (I had thought it would have to wait for the Friday print version). When not doing metas, I like other games/puzzles, golf, reading, travel. Happy to be a part of you all!

Hi! I'm Casey, in Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm a long-time fan of the Weekend WSJ puzzles, but new to the Friday contest. After checking out a few answers, I'm clearly going to need some help getting the hang of it. Any chance someone could drop me a Discord invite?

When I'm not getting lost in the meta, I'm a corporate attorney by day and a toddler mom by night. Both have their challenges :)

Hi all! My name's Miles. I'm a puppeteer and theater maker in Long Beach, CA and it's probably a terrible idea for me to keep feeding my puzzle addiction by being here. 😬 Yet here I am! Nice to meet you all!

We are both teachers in California. We love the thrill of seeing the meta come together and we have fun seeing how others on this forum found the weeks puzzle.

Hi, I am Julie. My daughter, Brittany (@Kali404) and I try to carve time to solve these together. I am a retired hearing specialist and my daughter is a police officer’s wife and full-time mother of four. My husband is very understanding of our passion, fortunately! In hindsight, I think I should have used the name “OftenStumped” instead of “SometimesStumped” but we have fun. Hi to all of you reading this and thanks for the fun commentary and camaraderie this group provides!

Following up to Mom’s (SometimesStumped) post, hi guys! I’m Brittany. It seems we are often lost at sea, but we have so much fun trying to frantically swim to shore! 😅 Looking forward to continuing to fight these currents as we try to stay afloat while learning all of these impressive meta mechanics!

@kali_404 and Mom @SometimesStumped Welcome and it is always great to have families working on these together.

Hi everyone, I'm Kelly. Ex-chemist now working in tech. Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a big fan of the Muller Monthly Music Meta but haven't really gotten into that many other puzzles. Happy to finally say hi!

Hey everybody. I'm Trout, I recently moved to Berlin Germany, and I've been doing crosswords basically every day since I was twelve years old (so, over forty years). I'm a lawyer by education, and my absolutely favorite things include tiki culture (so I guess that makes me sort of an Isaac), my corgi, boxing, electronic music, dumplings of all nations, and humility.

Hello everyone! I'm Julie, I live in Oakland, CA. I work in the tech industry and love crossword puzzles. It started with the LA Times back in the 90's when I saw my teacher solve them during class (lol) and wondered what the big deal was. Since then, I've become a daily solver of the NYT puzzles and whatever comes for free in the Crossword app I have (Joseph, Sheffer, Newsday, Murchie's).

I recently stumbled upon MMMM and am now trying to get good at metas!
