Double Meaning - January 2021

A monthly, music-themed meta crossword published at noon on the first Tuesday of every month. The puzzles increase in difficulty each month, and at year end there is a 13th puzzle (the "Mega-Meta") that invokes each of the 12 monthly puzzles. Currently available at https://pmxwords.com/, as well as through the Washington Post website here: MMMM at WaPo

Solved. I’m new to this puzzle this year. I’m kinda worried because I don’t know a whole lot about music. But I got this one. Yay!

Yikes! I almost forgot about MMMM this month. (Must have accidentally zapped or somehow missed the email.)

On the board!

And now looking up Alessia Cara songs. (Makes me realize how old I am. I've heard the name ... maybe.)

You could always submit a mega meta guess and have last (or maybe first!) all to yourself

Good point... did we ever adopt an MMMM "Honey I'm home"-type proclamation? If we didn't, I'm thinking it should be a song title.

Under the boardwalk?

I did the same thing. Not sure how I missed the email. And as for the Alessia Cara songs -the one I was most familiar with was from an Ulta Beauty commercial. Always wondered who the artist was.

I was so tempted to send you both to time out! Good ones, though... wonder if they swayed anyone?

We were safe - after the deadline!

I thought I might make the groaners list, but there were a lot of others. When I submitted my answer, I commented something like: Enjoyed it! Now I’m going to go put on my muumuu and pretend it’s warm outside!

Edit: Correction, I was safe! I see Bird was an hour before, but not as obvious a spoiler...
