#690 - "Age Appropriate"

An excellent puzzle written by one of the innovators of the meta crossword format. It comes out every Friday at noon and increases in difficulty throughout the month. Available for modest subscription (worth every cent) here: www.xwordcontest.com

Have an answer that is so good it's difficult to pass up, but... That *click* isn't as crisp as it might be.

Pondering...

Phew, finally got it after lots of <insert Joe Ross's ^^^ emoji here>.
Good click, no-doubter as others have mentioned.

Awaiting the board update...

2.5 hours later, still waiting, but no less sure.

And confirmed

All I have is a POSSIBLE answer after all this time. It's time to request a nudge if anyone is so disposed.

Headed out of town so won’t have time to struggle more with this one (also likely true next week). Oh well. :)

Wow. Still don’t even have a step one. I have two or three shows in mind that might work, but can’t even see a way to back solve. Ugh!

Needed a double-nudge on this one…. What a head-smacker! Why do I do this to myself every weekend? LOL

I am getting too good at finding almost accurate alternate answers. Will post another one after deadline.

Beam me up, but not by you, Han.

Thanks to a red-card-level nudge, I am beamed but not beaming. I should have seen it solo

Is anyone available to help a wayward muggle? Let me know, and I'll send you my ramblings. Thank you in advance--muggles are wonderful people.

EDIT: Received help (THANK YOU!) and am still working . . .

EDIT 2: Muggles really do save a sister's sanity. :)

Since I'm one family vacation 2000 light years from home right now and can't put thought into this right now I'm submitting a show that I loved and I think Matt did too that fits the 2 pieces of the enumerated hint in that one down clue/entry in the SE. Why not?

Anyone willing to give a newbie to this forum a nudge. This one has me stumped.

Beamed up via a kindly nudge. Kudos to those that solved this solo.

Solved with nudges (albeit the same ones!) from 2 different people. Thanks Danny & Meg!

Waiting for confirmation, but should be on the board. Strange one for me... I had a gut feeling about the answer and ended up devising a Week 4 sort of mechanism of my own that actually would have delivered beautifully, but didn't. Seemed like way too much of a coincidence so swearing I was somehow on the right track, I took a hammer to the puzzle and wiggled it out.

If someone's around and offering nudges, I'd also appreciate one. So many rabbit holes -- I hope one of them is right.

I feel so lost on this one, I don't know if I can even ask for a nudge because I have nothing to go off of. Have a hail-mary guess but it doesn't quite fit.
