Beamed up safely. Glad to be aboard!
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

I was led astray by words intended to deceive.
However, now I saw the light.

Man alive, this is playing like a Week 4 for me. Send me positive vibes since I am not solving this one "just like that," haha. I found what is likely a pivotal first step, perhaps a second step, but I'm either off the track, at a dead end, or totally overlooking something so similar if we're at a pretty legitimate Week 2 total.

No nudges yet, just rambling hoping I'll have an epiphany. First day back to work...happy Sunday!

Solved. Now back to struggling with the WSJ! It has been one of those weeks where nothing has been easy.

Lots of time spent looking for other ideas and then all of a sudden, "Wait, I've seen this before!"

Big rush of deja vu followed by a good head slap.

Beam me up!

Beam me up. I was stuck on this and the WSJ, then had a rush of inspiration and got both within 10 minutes!

Too many distractions, maybe? I should see it but I don't see it. Anyone around for a nudge?

after getting dragged kicking and screaming from the beautiful rabbit hole I had gone down, then getting the obligatory smack upside the head (thanks @MamaE ), Finally got beamed up.

I don't tend to ask for nudges on these, but I have a streak I'd like to try to keep going, even if it's not a solo streak-- anybody got a nudge they can send my way?

Edit: And with a little nudge from ajk, I'm in! No confirmation yet, but I'm confident in my answer. Thanks again!!

Major props to all who got this on a solo solve! This totally played like a Week 3 (maybe even 3.5) for me, even though what I thought was the epiphany was the rabbit hole and what I thought was the rabbit hole I should have explored ('tis life).

Beamed up with the help of some buddy solving. Really liked the construction and also loved the "aha" moment.
