I think this was an excellent way to get everybody out of the Comedy Central mess. 688 B is a true week 1. Great job, Matt!

I try to keep my solves as pure as possible by not looking at these boards until after I've submitted an answer. I was completely stymied by COMEDY CENTRAL (Diner is a comedy?!?!), so I just now read through those 7 pages of comments. They would have made me feel somewhat better that there were lots of other people in the same boat as me.

And it was indeed a nice gesture by Matt to send out this substitute puzzle. As Meg said, it is a "true week 1". Solved and beamed up, whew, suddenly life looks a lot better (not that my outlook on life depends on my current rate of success with metas, no, of course, that would be silly).

I thought Comedy Central was by far the best answer, but I'm happy to keep my "25" undeserved though it may be.

Back on track (submitted at least). I started to worry about myself getting nudges for a week 1. Comforting to know I wasn't the only one.

Edit: Beam me up!

Beam me up -- again!

(I got COMEDY CENTRAL, but with a bit of help, which was definitely unusual for a Week 1.)

Beamed up yet again. Love that we got a bonus meta this week!
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

You wonder if Matt was realizing what was going on with COMEDY CENTRAL early into the weekend and already started working on the alternate Week 1 or if this was a future Week 1 (though I think he says he loves making ideas on the fly) or where the origin of it came up. Definitely made me smile - and, yeah, bonus meta - come on!!

Well I submitted my B-side answer and hope I am right. Of course I thought I was right last time with TCM and had beaucoup documentation as to why, oh well.

YAY! Just checked and saw my name on the board, streak of one going! I panicked at first because it said the submissions were closed, must have been a glitch.

Oh, and for the record, I did find a way to come up with an alternate answer, true to my usual style of searching out the odd. Granted, it could not possibly be because the city is and never will be major, but it is always fun to reveal the potholes I fall in.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
