Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 50-Across the third-highest vocal range? I haven't solved it yet, so I'm paranoid it's a hint.

Right. Or fourth if you count mezzo-soprano. Surprising from the normally sure-footed Will and Matt.

I'm still working on it, grasping for air. I see most of what I think I need to see, but one item is throwing me off. Haven't a clue how to backsolve for that one item, either.

On the road the next couple of days, so hopefully post enlightenment will kick in (or some bourbon will clear my mind fog) tonight.

It's me also.

Now that Will has made the majors, will he still hang around with us? And IIRC, he had a mountain-themed puzzle on Pandora not too long ago, a much trickier one. This did not seem like a Week 4. I hope Matt doesn't compensate for the difficulty with Week 5.

[T]he 4 main types of male voices are as follows:

1. Countertenor
2. Tenor
3. Baritone
4. Bass

The clue could have been more specific. Others might say

1. First Tenor
2. Second Tenor or Lead

On the board. That was a fun one. I need to sign up for Pandora’s Blocks. How on earth have I missed that?!

I was stumped until I told my husband about it over breakfast and all of a sudden it made sense. I only ask him for help so I can hear myself talk. Once in a while it works.

All done. Difficulty may have given me a false sense of security for the week 5.
