As a bit of encouragement to other seafarers...
................I am not ashore.
But I am pleased to have solved the grid without Mr. G., including 8D, which I do not understand, but the great thing about pop culture answers is that they can look all wrong and be all right.
I say, Isaac, something to keep the peepers open, please, while I stare at this grid.

For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Good luck, fellow Muggles!

Agreed. That one isn't so obvious to me at this point.

On shore. Something in a Red...perhaps a Cab from Alexander Valley? Surprise me!
This feels like a solid solve. Yet, being new-ish, I still get the paranoia. Good thing I have a support group!

I'm happily on shore. I hastily printed this out for while was running errands. When I glanced over it I saw the dreaded parenthetical numbers and thought that I would see lots of complaints on the board, but so far not a peep. And I was another one who had the warm sensation of having the first thing I tried work out correctly. My only complaint is that I had hoped that it would take up more of my downtime while doing the errands!
(And I'm also struggling big time with the MMMM.)

Solved. It is extremely hard to be on page one when you forget it is Thursday.
