Aye. She's a pretty port, CD Bob. Recently, I had the pleasant task of deliverin' this 50 pounder to Fort McClary. And our crew had the chance to visit, a mackerel's throw from where you shot your nighttime tintype, your Clam Hut, Bob! Right next to the Tradin' Post at Kittery. Pass the tartar sauce, will ye?

You probably have eggs in there laid by the bird who built the nest, as well as eggs laid by a Brown-headed Cowbird. The Cowbird is a brood parasite. They always lay their eggs in other birds' nests, so those other birds end up raising the baby Cowbirds.eagle1279 wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 9:48 pm Ashore, after something of a struggle.
I didn’t post last week because my wife and I were on our 3-day spring migration from Arizona to Indiana, where we found a nest with different-colored eggs in a wreath by our front door. Is it common for the same bird to lay such a variety of eggs?62CD65F7-CDB2-435B-AE31-61C695B0AD52.jpeg

On shore! Not as easy a time of it as others here but once the idea came to me it was very fast to finish.

Loved this one. Easy (as the rating up top suggests) but very nice build-up to an aha moment.

THANK YOU so much. I love to hear the "story behind the story". Your Portsmouth photo is stunning!Bob cruise director wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 9:15 pmFor the past year, since we can not travel like we are used to, I have been infatuated with taking full moon pictures and pictures with the ISS crossing the moon and the sun. That image is the full pink moon from last month taken over Nubble lighthouse in York Maine. This lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country. I have many other photographs of the full moon and that lighthouse in as much bad weather as I can get.pookie wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 8:48 pmBob, I was just reading all of the comments to find out if anyone already asked about your full moon/lighthouse (I think) photo. I'm mesmerized by it! You always have such interesting photos each week.Bob cruise director wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 8:43 pm

Thank your neighbor for me. I don't know which I appreciate more - the piano because I tried and am miserable at so I am in awe of those who can or the photography because I can and appreciate the ability and creativity of those who take great pictures.
Can you tell us anything about this week's photo?
Over the course of the next month, I have on the agenda, 1) the full moon setting over the wiggly bridge in York, the ISS transiting the full moon, 2) the ISS transiting the sun, 3) a couple of other full moon shots this month and 4) on June 10, there is an almost full solar eclipse that will come up just over Nubble Light so I hope to get several different shots of that. The big thing with all of these kinds of shots is planning to be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment and hope for good weather.
This is Portsmouth NH at night from Kittery ME

I'm looking forward to more of your full moon pictures, as it is one of my favorite images also.

Ashore. It’s been a busy weekend so just getting to post this now even though we solved it yesterday. This was a fun one.

Still keeping Isaac company. Nothing is coming to light, but maybe inspiration will hit me while out on the golf course. That'll be my last hope since i've been struggling since Thursday evening.

Ashore! Thanks Boharr for the nudge. Now, off to see the Grand Canyon today after some great hiking in Sedona yesterday.

Happy mother's day! I've been looking this over for days. I keep finding new avenues in the puzzle but none of them are leading me anywhere! I would love a nudge!

I just wrote a DM but now it's sitting in my outbox. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong that it won't send.

My daughter moved from the urban wilds of The Windy City (first Skokie, then the Ravenswood neighborhood) to the southern urban wilds of St. Petersburg, Florida. She kept hearing noises in the crawl space under her house and set up a webcam. This is the first she's seen of her guests during daylight!Scott Lindholm wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 8:27 pm First time on shore in about a month, so it'll be crowded. I'm vaccinated, so you can have a beer or ten with me.
And, fresh from the wilds of urban Chicago...
