I just never know what to do when there are numbers in parentheses! Hanging out with Isaac for now.

Well that’s because it is seldom the same thing twice! The fiends!
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

As far as I know there are no Rules of Nudges....some are offered, some are taken. Perhaps some people wait until Sunday to give nudges. But, I don't claim to know all the rules......

I think I'm ashore...did some adjusting with first part and went from there...got a nudge from that and am guessing the next part . It fits but am used to having it all given to you if you get my drift.

That was my concern also. But the answer I jumped to made sense, and I wasn't seeing anything else, so I submitted and will find out tomorrow if I am correct.

Ashore, thanks to a nudge! I was making it way, way too complicated. MG gets in my head, especially after Game, Set and Match, and those dreaded parentheses!

Btw, I love this forum.🤩

There are no rules by the WSJ. However we have come up with a set of guidelines that are in Come Aboard

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=390

some of the important ones
1) PM one or more people rather than having a broadcast for everyone.
2) tell the people what you have done so they can give you the best help

3) but tell them in PMs, not in postings in the forum
4) make sure you have private messaging turned on in your settings

On shore.
Got last week's answer 2 minutes before the deadline and was too late to submit.
Gee, a whole day early this week!

Well this was another NEVER for me - Had everything right but NEVER would have gotten from that to the correct answer. It was a bridge too far.
Well, at least you made it to Friday before completely giving up on Friday's puzzle. That's progress!

Now if only we could get you start telling yourself, "I think I can, I think I can..." over and over again. That phrase is more likely to lead to a "I got it!" than is the phrase, "This is a NEVER for me."

BTW: Is "NEVER" really a noun? Any grammarians here who can illuminate the matter?

Toes in the sand. We were feeling a bit unsure of our answer but after sitting on it for a bit I am pretty sure we got it.

I am either in a deep hole, or I don't know candy. Keeping Isaac company with a lovely Jamaican rum. Maybe I will resume tomorrow.
