Woooo! Ashore! I’ll have a pina colada!

Did it without a nudge for the first time!

This is getting more fun now!

On shore!
And weighing in with my general objection to 11D.
But my snark pales in comparison to relief at finally seeing sand after a few weeks with Isaac. (Admitting here, finally—I was *SO SURE* that “Three of a Kind” was the answer to “This, That and the Other” two weeks ago. Alas...)

qvart wrote: Thu May 06, 2021 11:15 pm Is there a .puz version available on Thursdays?
Yep. The link is in this thread from the FAQs - Community / Solving Resources forum:
Martin wrote: Fri Nov 27, 2020 10:52 am An Across Lite version of each Friday Contest Crossword is available at 4:07 PM ET on Thursday at
https://tinyurl.com/mugglespuz

Across Lite is a free solving program for PC Mac. It may be downloaded at
https://www.litsoft.com/across/alite/download/

Many other solving programs and apps, including several for smartphones, also read Across Lite files.

Note: Chrome will quarantine the file if you click the link above, meaning you have to confirm with "Keep." You can avoid that, if you want, by copying the link and pasting into the browser address area. (It's an interaction between https and http.) But ignoring the Chrome warning and clicking Keep is perfectly safe.

femullen wrote: Thu May 06, 2021 9:44 pm I deeply appreciate others who admit to not getting this right away. Like last week googling NBA teams, this week I will probably end up googling candy brands. When, oh when, will the meta rely on truly general knowledge, like, I dunno, electron transition energies in the lithium atom?
Naw brah, do what I did and step away from it, then do something else, check out the rules for solving this and it will leap to you! You got this!

Ashore - victory has never felt so sweet! But the crossword high beats a sugar rush anytime. Looking forward to celebrating with everyone on the beach.

Even on a phone I was able to get to shore! (Thankfully I bought the waterproof case!)
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

And it’s hard to keep track of what day it is when you’re retired. Definitely not the worst problem one could have though 🙂
Retirement is one week away. My retirement dream job started a little early. Thus, my not knowing what day it is!
