So I’m on the shore on Thursday evening with the Friday puzzle not even in actual print and what page am I on?!
Oh well. Back to the Monday Encyclopedia Brown meta.

I deeply appreciate others who admit to not getting this right away. Like last week googling NBA teams, this week I will probably end up googling candy brands. When, oh when, will the meta rely on truly general knowledge, like, I dunno, electron transition energies in the lithium atom?
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

I think I made it but could use a second set of eyes if anyone is willing.
//Edit: @Omnibus checked me...I'm ashore. Thanks!

Ahhh. I just did the puzzle via the .puz file (not a huge fan of the interface on the site). As soon as I filled out the grid it let me bring up the submit box. Thanks for the tip.Laura M wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 7:54 pm Reminder @MamaE @ajk @VincentM @JetStream and anyone else I missed:
The WSJ online submission form is really picky. I'm not sure exactly what trips it up, but I've run into a few things so now I always specify my answer without any special characters or punctuation.
(Also, the grid needs to be completely filled out in "pen," although it doesn't matter if it's correct.)

Finally got to sit down and relax with this tonight... and it was delicious! ( :
Working all day in preparation for leaving early tomorrow to meet our newest grand baby — a little brother for the kid in my photo tile ——->
On shore. I’ll have a stiff full-caff coffee.. miles to go before I sleep.

I thought the grid was harder than the meta. Once I had the grid, the meta came right away.

On shore. I get the feeling it will be hard to socially distance on the beach this week!

Either on shore or in a very strange rabbit hole! Would someone be willing to PM me and double check my work?
Edit: Confirmed with periperi - thanks! Onshore!

After several clueless weeks, this one clicked. Must admit, however, that due to my not-so-great penmanship and thereby misreading a letter in 1D, spent some time down a rabbit hole that had me totally stymied. When I realized my faux pas, and the letter emerged properly, got to the right place. Having said that, had to grapple a little with finalizing my solution but arrived at what I believe is the right spot and a place on the beach. Nice to see all you Muggles after weeks of hanging with Isaac.

On shore and starting to be less scared of numbers in parentheses. I'll have a Founders KBS please.

Is there a .puz version available on Thursdays?
