Well, I've tied my boat up at the pier, but not sure if I've reached the correct shore.

Haven't been around of late, and may not be around much for a while. Got all the prior weeks and am 99% sure of this one.

Mark me done and done. I'll have one bourbon, one scotch, one beer.
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Submitted "an" answer, so I'm technically on the beach. Tiki drinks for the last time on the 'kiki beach this year.

In shore. I have my alarm set for 10 pm Sunday night to look at the WSJ puzzle. I solved the puzzle Thursday but didn’t see anything obvious. Looked again tonight and saw the correct rabbit holes that lead to shore. Nice meta.

and note the tennis reference at 8A, so if you had a different A, B and Match, you'll need to show why it's better than the tennis answer.

The construction of this one was essentially perfection!

No way! I was sure it was Three on a Match. 15A and 61A suggest One, Tue, Three.

Game, set and match was clearly the answer.

Yeah, the other one I thought it might be was Three on a Match. But then the title, you know?

T’was the day before Monday, and all through his struggles,
He hadn’t the certainty worthy of Muggles.
By Sunday he grasped what the answer might be
Then read on the web that they’d found two or three.

Had he grasped the right one, or was it a fiction?
Submitting while addled? Such dereliction!
To pick from a threesome is not the right way;
A guess is a guess after all, so they say.

He had to be sure before sending it in,
Surely a clue’s there, but where to begin?
The clues and the grid were examined with care,
In hopes that his meta-muse soon would be there.

All of a sudden, DO UP came to mind –
The most odd-looking answer the fellow could find.
Look for an oddness, the experts have said,
And out of the rabbit hole you will be led.

Checking the web at a most rapid pace,
He found what he needed, the synonym LACE.
(To most puzzle solvers this isn’t real news;
It’s “doing up” corsets, and same with the shoes.)

So LACE was the key, though discovered quite late:
It’s simply the shorthand for Look At Clue Eight.
That led to Tennis – he had it alright.
So happy solving to all, and to all a Good Night!

In addition to the tennis reference, the other factor I saw as confirmation was that the two alternate words in the grid for ON STANDBY have their own alternate words (albeit in reverse order): WILLING=GAME, READY=SET.

I laughed at the earlier Seinfeld discussion because the meta answer immediately reminded me of a different episode: “Game, set, and match, huh Milos?”
