The record for total entries is 3762 and for correct entries 2797 - both set two weeks ago with Poetic Justice

On shore. I used to be batting .500 at these, but with the new simplfied-crossword regime I'm now batting 1000. On the other hand the mug-win probability has gone from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 2000, so I am going no faster in pursuit of the fabled container. Still, I look forward to the return of the more challenging and more interesting puzzles of yestermonth.

On shore. Busy morning with me getting my second dose and my wife getting her first dose of the Moderna vaccine. God bless the nurses and firefighters administering doses here in the LA area.

Massachusetts opened up the vaccines for over 65 at 8 am this morning and the web site for booking crashed immediately. It was down for at least 2 hours when I stopped looking

From my days at college, "cold, snow and ice" is an anagram for Hudson Valley
