Ashore after a leisurely swim. I’m confident in the answer although if there was an elegant way to find it I missed it.

(Go for it! You can do it! Disguise it in song titles.)
You shake my nerves and you rattle my cage
Too many puns, but I must engage
You said I will, boy what a thrill
Goodness gracious, great out of control balls of fire launching....

That's as ballsy as I'm going to get! ;) :)

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I guess this is the first time I rated a puzzle 0.5 for difficulty. I like the completeness of it though, good one.

Onshore. 2021 shaping up (so far) to be much better for me on the metas. Spicy double trouble (margarita with passion fruit and blood orange) in hand.

Hope all have a good weekend!

zacmoretz wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:24 pm Ashore. Having an Eagle Rare with a few drops of water and a twist of lemon. I am reading “Pappyland” right now, that is how Julian Van Winkle III drinks his bourbon apparently. I would have thought he’d take it neat...
The important question is, is it Eagle Rare 17? or the 10?

Also I get the feeling that Pappy was drinking cask strength and when you have that you need to add a couple drops of water, else the alcohol is overpowering. I add a couple drops to my George T. Stagg cask strength and my Woodinville Whiskey cask strength. Sometimes will add some to my Pappy, depending on the weather.
Wow! What this tells me is that I am drinking my bourbon incorrectly because I'm not drinking it at YOUR house. Tell you what, I'll bring the few drops of water if you'll share the Stagg, and Pappy. I've been able, with the help of a friend, get my hands on Eagle Rare (10), Blanton's and Rowan's Creek and grabbed some Weller's 10 and C.H. Taylor on my own, but I'm still hunting Staggs and can't find my Pappy. I guess I'll just live vicariously, sigh.
Anytime you find yourself in the PNW more than welcome to come drink. The Stagg unfortunately didn't survive a visit from my mother...long and funny story....suffice it to say she really enjoyed it. The Pappy's survives because I now know to put it on the top shelf in back. I do put out either Jefferson Reserve or Knobb Creek for mom.

On the lucky side the local liquor store allows it's regulars to come down when the small batches are released and get in a lottery for picking up bottles. Hence how I scored the Pappy, and hoping once he can have more than 5 folks in the store to score another bottle of Stagg. Still working my way through Blanton's trying to get all the letters. I've got 3 so far.

This is, bar none, the sweetest thing I have ever seen in my life. I am not a particularly sentimental person, but this just made me boo-hoo.

Must be a neap tide because I waded to what appears to be a very crowded beach.

Ashore. My husband got it so I’ll submit under his name, but I’m sure I would have too? I’ll count it as a win on my tracking spreadsheet regardless.

I didn’t revisit (and read the “it’s supposed to be easy” post) until this morning after his Friday AHA, but in the meantime I had another solve dream. Somehow FLUSH was a clue, and the answer was in the grid, shaped in a spiral. What the hell, brain?! Don’t you have something better to dream about?

Good Sunday muggles - we are in record territory with 223 on the shore and a couple scrounging around for drinks on the ship.

And we have four new muggles since yesterday - xwordcoco, Ruthmary, Peter M and TheCatt Welcome to all

Long odds winning the mug but stay safe - no Superbowl parties.

On shore. Got this one on Friday but it's been a funky weekend. Thought the meta was easy after getting the grid. Absolutely loved the clues for the key answers. Making up clues for grid fill that is basically delightful nonsense must be a really fun challenge!
