On shore.

Spoiler: It's not IRREGARDLESS (a word which made the headlines this week).

On shore! I enjoyed this one. It was easy, and then difficult, and then just vague enough to make it interesting in the end.

Lots of trouble with the grid. Meta is not revealing itself to me. I might be 0 for 1 to start the year. But I'll keep looking.

Yea. My mind is frazzled right now. I was thinking of Gaffney, which isn't free.

Thanks for setting me strait. Now I just need to clear my mind before tomorrow's Gaffney meta.

Seeing a new name made me nervous, but the puzzle proved to be clever and fun. A different mechanism than AP Chemistry from some time ago, which is probably my all-time favorite meta.

We enjoyed it, and are always thankful to solve on Thursday, rather than tearing our hair till Sunday pm

Solved, although my failing eyesight caused me to miss one asterisk, which slowed down my endgame.

Now I'm going to go back and research [spoiler removed: a puzzle from 2019 that other folks are mentioning as well].

I also found the grid to be a bit difficult. I'm on shore, but I'm not quite sure how I got here....; ETA: aha, in a moment of posting clarity, now I see how I did it; it's nice to get that final click and to truly merit that drink.

Happily ashore after a short detour around the lagoon. Thank you for the fun puzzle for a cold January day in PA. It's always nice to be able to dream about being on a warm beach somewhere with a lovely drink in hand.
