"Closing Numbers" - April 26, 2019
By Matt Gaffney. The answer to this week’s contest is the two grid entries that would complete the puzzle's theme.
Good luck!

Nice one! I'm on shore now, though I was confused for a bit because I didn't read the instructions at the start (BrianMac also posted them at the top of this thread), so my advice is don't forget to do that...

I'm not from Mexico (Argentinian) but still managed to swim to shore... I think I'll have a Margarita today.

Nice construction. One of the words came easy to me. The other I had to think more about to find. One minor nit, but I will comment on that after the answer is revealed on Monday.

On shore and hoping for a weekend that's every bit as enjoyable as a Gaffney challenge. Be safe and have fun, all.

It’s such a wonderful feeling when the meta light goes on! I’m on the beach.

Rode the Jet Ski to shore. Calm seas made the trip quicker than usual.

Maybe I could do with one less "nudge" here. But it is a clever idea with good execution.

So would I be correct to infer that my background in German and Classical Greek will not be of use this week?

Let's see who can come up with the best clue for the two grid answers combined. I have some ideas but they are not clever.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

I’m glad to join the shore party. Trying to think of something to say that isn’t a spoiler, but can’t, so will just have a beer though the other options sound yummy.
