Welcome. I see you have 5 posts but somehow I have not seen you in my muggles list. Either way, we are glad you are here. Good luck winning the mug

Bob cruise director wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2020 11:49 am We will get started on our Saturday report early as the shore is crowded with 113 fighting for beach space and the line at the tiki bar is long.

We also have four new muggles: RedtheRed9 aka Dan Kravitz on the WSJ comments page, Valerie Sadid and Regina Connors on the WSJ page, and Jkj here

This contest has the makings either for a record number of entries and astronomical correct percentage or a nightmare that may dwarf the infamous Pageant.

So far pookie is watching the playoff games on the ship with Isaac

And the long list of those on the shore are
Al - who was on the shore about 7 minutes after the contest was posted

You missed boharr on shore. An easy think to do as he's seldom there.
You were in my count but I missed a couple in my typing - sorry
Not that my typing exactly shines (obviously). Good luck with your Pats.

Just back from the Galapagos and I finally have a functional Internet. This one quite easy, solved well before I finishEd the grid. Ashore in more ways than one!

I can't seem to leave for shore. Here's a rich grid, richly clued, and an "obvious" answer--more obvious than "Bowl Games." "Pageant" echoes loudly through the lonely ship.

Funny... the shore looks just like it did way back in 2019!
I wonder if they have a Redbreast 12 year-old at the Tiki bar?

I have decided to abandon Isaac and head to the shore.

I can see a space ship next to the tiki bar advertising free Kanamit vacation cruises with a very tall gentleman handing out tickets and hustling people on board.

I was getting ready for church this morning, realized while showering, that, although I had solved the puzzle and figured out the meta (among the approximately 9.237 of us who did so successfully), I had ***forgotten to submit the answer***. Close call...

I don't get the right answer all that often. Got it last week and hope this makes two in a row!! Maybe I will get better with more practice...

We all get better with practice on these things. You learn the mischievous techniques of Matt and Mike and then they throw you a curve. Reading the post mortems on Monday to see the wrong or right paths that others took is very instructive - and it makes you feel better that you are not the only one who went down some pretty strange rabbit holes.

Keep at it.

Just got back after a real cruise (unfortunately no bartenders named Isaac). Almost forgot to do the puzzle. I am now on shore literally and figuratively.

Cheers to a mere few to several shy of a gross (137) of muggles on the beach!

What is the record number posting as solved?
