Toby wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 7:56 am Answer is GLANDS. Each body part has a "part two" that can be found hidden in other words in grid with one extra letter that spells out answer: EAR/(G)LOBE; KNEE/C(L)AP; BRAIN/STE(A)M; EYE/BROW(N); RIB/CA(D)GE; FINGER/(S)NAIL.
I got hung up for a while on a different kind of "Part Two." I was looking for some sort of "ear worm" or "knee slapper" or "brain teaser" or "eye candy" or "rib tickler" or "finger painting." Or something along those lines.

Feel free to use my rabbit hole for any future puzzling.

I thought this puzzle was a "stretch", especially because I had to go all over the grid to find the hidden letters. MG is usually not this coy...

Care to clarify? (I think I have a good guess.)
Let's just put it this way: I spent some time looking for WHOLE in the grid.
But 60D was ARNE ...
;)
'tis... A lovely day for a Guinness!

For me, the title really screamed at me what to do, once I’d found the body parts hidden in the theme answers. So I went looking for more parts. The second thing which really helped me was noticing CADGE. That is a very strange word seldom seen. I don’t really feel as adept as some at noticing strains and stretches in construction, but while doing the puzzle, I thought, I’ll have to keep this in mind!

I’m very thankful for the WSJ meta and for this forum and its participants, among other things! Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving!

Oh, that’s not what I was thinking. I’d figured that as you found letters you had G N D S and thought there might just be vowels missing.
I trust that you did not discuss your solution approach with your family

What's risque about that - I've gotten a smack upside my EAR HOLE any number of times

Thankfully there are no such things as an EAR EGG, EYE LOG or KNEE TWIN!

Happy Thanksgiving Muggledom, I look forward to a Black Friday puzzle, and I've already figured out the Meta - WALMART. :)

I know we got a puzzle the week of Thanksgiving last year; I just don't remember if it came out on Thursday or Friday.

Trying to add the newest meta ("Leftovers," 11/28/2019) as a new topic, but couldn't. Anyway, I'm on shore and late for watching my Cowboys...

Your Cowboys got their butts handed to them. Garrett may be on the way out even if they make the playoffs
