I wasn't sure that I had the right answer at first, but when paired with the puzzle title, and the different way of "saying something" like the theme clues, it all clicked.

My wife had never heard the expression, thus my opinion that many might not like the result, but a show we watched that night had a character scream "Mwahaha!"

A very clever Halloweeny type meta!

Had BOO and BRR and HMM and OOPS right away. Got stuck with EWW instead of ICK. Never heard of ACK. Took 3 days to put it all together. Very satisfying, though. Thanks Matt!

One of the weirdest solves for me, because I just can't see the curveball. But I put the laptop down, somehow made the BRR -Barr connection, and that was that.

My brain doesn't work that way. I've found new ways to put out baseball info this week, but that's data, and I do that I'm my sleep. This solve was totally random.

i thought this was a weird one because of what "sound" was chosen for each prompt. felt like it was a little squishy there compared to other metas. i got it in the end, but i opted for SH! in ASH to get the last 'A' - very interesting now to see that BAH was the actual intended solution

Wow, I was closer than I thought. Figured I had the wrong idea when my answer started with MW. And for BE DAMNED I went with ASTIN for “a sin”.

I've always spelled this MUAHAHA, but I submitted the right answer. I have never used/heared BE DAMNED!, didn't see BAH, and reluctantly used S'NAA ("nah!") in its place.

Saw the cool mechanism but missed two, instead of ack, I saw oh no, upside down on hot. And missed bah, thinking it was either so in sob or bong in boing, as in the sound of a bell like gong. Tried all to go with brr, oops, boom, wick, hamm which left me with a lot of Nothing. Almost asked for nudge but could not bring myself to do that!
MWAhAhA I’ve never seen spelled out. Hmm… on to next week. I’m no Wendy, that’s for sure, but it sure is fun.

Christ, I had the answer but I couldn’t make MWAHAHA into anything, so I just thought I was missing a step 3. Is there a KAS scale for when you got the answer but didn’t realize you got the answer?

Not a fan of Bill the Cat? That’s his signature expression. I know there are quite a few on this forum who will have known that one right away. I must admit I backsolved that letter though after I had the answer and as noted previously quite literally laughed out loud. I absolutely loved this one. Thanks again Matt!

Cathy used to say “ack” in her comic strip all the time.

Never close, got stuck on finding the words THIS and ONE in neighboring grid answers. Congrats to those who solved.
