Looks like Calvin got the same backpack George has, the Jackson Galaxy one. We chose that one because it has a higher capacity (some of my cats are chonks), has the optional bubble, and converts to a horizontal carrier with a strap.

I usually use the bubble with George. It gives him a little extra room, plus he can lie down and peer out and not have to stand up to see where we're going. He doesn't jump out because he's wearing a harness that's clipped to the backpack.
Right, so I can’t get the screen off to put the bubble in. I think Calvin would love that. I called the company and they said sometimes it sticks and to try harder. Still no luck. Calvin is strapped in too so he can look out the top.
Are you able to unscrew the plastic lock ring?
Nope. And many have tried.

Still on the boat, my excuse is that we are spending a long weekend in Minnesota and the chilly temps are affecting my brain cells. But there's still time!

Finally ashore. Thanks to muggles consultations, I felt confident enough to start my swim. Then, I got caught in an undertow and almost drowned until a muggles friend threw me a life line!!! Still coughing up some sea water, but happy days are here again. Another fun weekend.
Don & Cynthia

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

After really thinking hard about the title, I'm going to claim to be ashore. Not sure I'm on the correct beach though. Cheers!

Not a lot of meta-time this weekend as I had to haul the boat out and watch the neighbor's dogs, but I figured this one out this morning.

Ashore!
Ahoy! Check out my meta puzzles here! Check out "Smooth Sailing Sundays" here!

I am also still on the ship. Several exclamations come to mind that probably would not get past the editor. No mechanism comes to mind and I can't decide if I am overthinking it, or I am in over my head. Chasing what I thought to be a productive trail for two days, and I am now ready to go back to square one.

A quick grid, a couple very shallow rabbit holes, and now I see the path shore. More swimming is involved though.

I was confused when I logged in and didn't see notifications for this puzzle. I posted Friday morning that I was ashore, made a witty little comment, and departed. But it seems that somehow my entry has gone *poof!* So long as the solve entry went through!!

I’m looking for a nudge. I was sure I had it but now I’m sure I’m totally off course!

I was dragged to the shore and my head held under water till I drank.

Not submitting.

Can easily imagine Matt to be particularly delighted with this puzzle.

(Had the mechanism from the get-go. Should have followed the advice to work it harder and farther.)

Ok, I’m calling myself ashore, with confidence in my final answer growing from 75% to 95% as I review it.

On shore! Don't think my meta-mojo kicks in until Sunday afternoon. Everything clicked... very Gaffney-esque!

On shore.

I was initially intimidated by the title, and, when I first gave it a cursory look, I was thinking that Matt was right. Inspiration struck and I made it safely to the beach.
