Not particularly. I prefer the ones that don't. I figure more figuring and less monkeying around with letters until something sticks. (Of course monkeying around to get to the *start* of something to start figuring is fine.)

I was actually expecting to look of the makers of those cars the see if the makers spell something. I wasn't expect the makes of the cars to ... be the end of it.

Ahhh. There lies my issue with these things. Have yet to distinguish, categorize, nor characterize monkeying around properly. Shall get right on it.

9:45 was Christina's solve time for this puzzle.

We had 4,554 entries, which I think is an all-time record (our Muggle historians can back me up). And an eye-popping 98% correct. Perhaps an easier-than-usual puzzle, perhaps our solvers are getting better and better at this, and spreading the word... One for the books no matter how you slice it. Congrats to all, and special congrats to the solver who overcame bigger-than-usual odds to win this one: Kim Knapp of Duluth, Ga.!
This blew away the previous records by a lot.

4558 submissions beat the old record of 3998
4467 correct answers beat the old record of 3758

Can you just see Muggles on dates?

“Oh look honey, if you take only the center letters of these menu items it spells out another word...!”

Date looks around nervously, gestures to waiter...

I had to look that up when I saw the answer. Never heard of such a thing.... but I want one!

Neither had I before I went searching for a word beginning in “OTA” to fit the meta mechanism. I spent way too much time watching videos of them. Want to give them as Xmas gifts.

This might be the best

a BIG rolling double finger point to our Cruise Director on getting us all back on the ship, ready and loaded, for the next contest puzzle.

Kinda like herding cats, apparently, but we all made it back aboard - and Isaac, after a lonely weekend, is all smiles. :D
