I think Captain Stubing just ran the whole ocean liner aground on the beach.
Or else we're all on the wrong beach! :?

On shore. Quite easy. Got a very late start and did finish the grid first. Grid was kind of fun.

... except usually when one does too easy an answer it doesn't exactly fit all the conditions that are being asked. It may relate to but some aspect is not being addressed or something is superfluous. Or occasionally but rarely, one stumbles one the right answer but overlooked the one key that locks it in that it must be the answer.

For my answer, *every* aspect is being addressed; admittedly to just the minimum required.. but everything is being addressed directly and succinctly. It's just.... I wasn't made to work for it.

... I'm nervous.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Three in a row. Starting to miss Isaac.
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

Ashore with the herd after getting a late start. Agree that it's a good one for newbies.

On shore. The contest submission button is missing for me so for a second I thought it was actually the Thursday puzzle and it was just a theme.

I laughed when I saw all of these comments about solving it before finishing the grid.
I could have done it too if I'd stopped for a second to think. I didn't expect it was going to be that easy so I filled in the whole grid first. Also, I was partly thrown off by an unintentional red herring.

Maybe my chance of winning the mug will be better next week.

I think I’m ashore! but ... too easy perhaps?

EDIT: Ashore!

(breaks out in singing On My Own from Les Miserables...)
(or Sistas Doing It for Themselves! may be more appropriate)
(ordinarily it would be En Vogue’s, Never Gonna Get It!)

My version doesn't list the author and editor. Is this a fluke of the overseas download? Or what's up with that?

Anyway, easy and restful. That always makes us brace up for a hideous revenge in some following week.
