Ashore!

Now that page 1 is done ... Filled in the grid handily, but still looking. I see quite a few interesting things but haven't put them together yet.

More importantly, where's Al?

I'm right with you. I know when somebody says "easy one" on the first page, I'm doomed to be spending the weekend staring at it

On the beach! That was a nice one! Honestly, how do you guys get it so fast? The cabana boy will be back shortly. He had to run out and get more sunscreen. Nice tan on that guy!

Solved. 🏝

8 min for grid, 4 min for meta.

Edit: which coulda been 2 min if I'd gone back to check something instead of brute-forcing it.

`Ashore. II think I found it easy because I've seen similar mechanisms in previous Mike/Marie puzzles and knew where to look.

I've got to say 40A threw me for a complete loop and because if it I have absolutely no idea at all what I'm supposed to do.

Ashore.
I see the mechanism and the answer but I don't fully understand it.
I'll sleep on it and look again in the morning.

On shore. It's way too early here in Australia for anything other than a coffee, but a G & T awaits later today!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!
