Solved after my typical floundering for awhile. Liked this one!

53A is my favorite answer this puzzle!

On shore, although I need to stop and have drinks with friends. But that's a good thing. Cheers all.

Had to get past a particularly distracting red herring, but I made it to shore.

On shore for the first time in months. Have no fear, I haven't let that stop me from having a crisp, refreshing Busch Light as I finished the puzzles in total confusion.

I was in Chicago for a baseball nerd meet up, waited in our daughter's apartment for the rain to let up so I could walk to Murphy's. I had company--and lived to tell about it! In case you're not sure, that's me he's sitting on.

Mark my words, he's just biding his time until he rules all...

Wow! Page 3! Ashore!

Although it's a little less than elegant than I'd like (to my mind), it's still a nifty construction!

Still with Isaac but will be distracted as our daughter in law is in labor with grandchild number two (their first)!!!!! As you can imagine we are very excited. Will hope to swim ashore before we get the call…

Stay well all!

Ashore. I’m feeling like I might be getting the hang of these, which means I probably won’t solve the next dozen or so. Metas keep you humble

This week’s Muggle All-Stars are led by the speedy trio KayW, taking the gold medal at 4:14 p.m.; Docison with the silver (4:15); and Mr. Alex Sisti with the bronze (4:16). Rounding out page 1 are PJC, DCBilly, Peter Abide, STMV, DB Miller, Michael M, R Pardoe, Laura M, Beth A (4:28), M Heberling, Scott M, Beth T (4:36), Jordanian Tomlinson, Darth, Eric Harrison, and Dave C.
Also rapidly making it ashore are San Milton, Richard, Meg, Dave Kennison, Chris Kochmanski, Georgeall, Steve B, Zach, Joe Equavis, TMart, Spotter, Matty the WSJ Puzzler, Tina, Heidi Birker (and her adorable new grandbaby!), Cindy, Ergcat, Higgysue, Andrew Bradburn, F Kelly, Larrry, SReh26, Jace 54, Sharkicicles, Boharr, Rob M, Scott Lindholm (and his VERY sweet cat friend), Old Judge, Jean Rosz, GR Winski, and Roberta.
Unsure of his status is Mister Squawk. I am still at Isaac’s bar with Tom Shea, JimJim, and expectant grandfather Streroto, and though Dr. Tom has not chimed in, I suspect he’s around here somewhere because he, like me, has a wretched time with the puzzles everyone else dubs “easy”!

Ashore.

Is it just me, or was the grid brutal? Toughest one I've done in a while, anyway. Meta was easier than the grid for me.

Me too. I had to use Google to verify several things I'd never heard of.

Tried a Guinness this week to try to bolster my IQ. Seemed to work. And if it didn't, I would still feel better.

Done.
