Barbara - see my post below. I was on an island off Maine for a few days. I am back on shore literally but not metaphorically. I am working on the status and will post soon.

Just made it to the Tiki Bar in time for Happy Hour. Okay, Happy Weekend. :D

Can't wait for the post-mortem on this puzzle. Bouquets must be thrown to the builder.
I was worried about our Cruise Director after the debacle-on-ice in Boston Wednesday night. Wait'll next year, Bob.

A belated Friday status report. We have 60 on the shore enjoying the luau with an assortment of Lean Meat. And there are 6 of us on the shore keeping Isaac in business.

Our normal Saturday report should be on time.

I wonder what happened to my post. I posted yesterday (Thursday) at lunchtime, but don't see my post here! I found this one tricky and fun, and got it without too much head-banging. On shore!

It seems every week someone says this. I thought it was a case of people leaving the page before hitting the "submit" button. But for the first time yesterday, after pressing "submit" on a post, I got a message that I had not seen before. It said that someone had posted in the time between when I started typing my post and when I pushed submit and it asked me if I still wanted to post. I guess it's to make sure that you know you're responding to the most recent post.

But it took me by surprise and I very nearly left the page without the message fully registering. In which case, my post would not have been submitted. So watch out for that especially during busy times. I think that might be what's happening with these posts that go missing.

This is getting old. Grid is finished but nada on the meta. Well, I see some things but nothing productive yet.

And 13A is a thing? Hmmm. I know the rule - no spoilers even on grid entries; I'll withhold further comment til Monday.
I just looked it up and apparently it is. How awful! Had never heard of 10D.

Finally saw it and joined the shore crowd. I hope the mug isn’t won by someone who just guessed, but life will out, I suppose.

I made it to the shore. Should not have taken as long as it did.

Thanks, Mike, once again.

Done and done. Pretty straightforward for both the grid and meta. Good luck Muggles!

Bob-my husband and I really appreciate your work as our cruise director--it really makes each week's journey more fun, whether we get the meta or not. We looked up Monhegan Island where you went and it seems fascinating. So glad you are seeing islands of all kinds. Thanks again.

I do almost all of them. I did not do the Make Way For Ducklings with the Bruins jerseys on but I took the cormorant tossing the fish yesterday morning.

Thank you for the compliment

I have two answers, both defensible, neither very satisfying. I wonder what it is that everyone else sees that I'm missing.

That took me far longer than it should have been! Count me ashore Robert! Oh, and I hope some newbies were not led astray on this one. Will explain on Monday. (Heidi)
