Thanks for posting, Hector!
I'm a little concerned that someone has already rated the puzzle's difficulty, given that my spreadsheet shows no entries yet. Maybe the rater was simply rating the crossword's difficulty? The funny thing is I'd say the rating is correct.

Solved- I did not rate either (although it is correct). This was more of a misguided angel than the typical inscrutable devil.
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Unfamiliar with the topic area - so had to google for my answers.
Hopefully did so successfully for my submission.

Ditto.
What I'm learning from the googling is very interesting indeed.

Leaderboard as of right now. Spreadsheet is acting up, hence the odd-looking screenshot.
Happy to say that everyone who's submitted via the form so far has been correct.

I had to do more Googling for the culture references in the grid than I did for the answer.

I think I have the right idea, but not totally sure I got the intended answer (via Google). Nice puzzle though!

I’m pretty sure that for half of the answer there is an alternative that is also correct, or so says Professor Google.

It's certainly possible (and I would count it as such) - curious to know what the alternative you found was.
