In no way meant to disparage any Muggles!
I just thought that the poor cat has taken so much abuse from us, that he should have his say for a change!
Besides -- it made me laugh --

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Wow - i have not yet solved the meta, but this puzzle amazes me. I have several directions to pursue, but stumped so far. And I have a degree in art. Not that that will necessarily help, if there’s something tricky going on in the title. If anyone feels like comparing notes via the zoom room or DM let me know!

UPDATE: got a working team now… I’m optimistic based on their credentials!

Of two thoughts as possible artists, though one is a bit of a stretch.
Solved and submitted - confirmed

I have an answer, but I don’t know if it is THE answer. Answer confirmed—the cat has left the hat.

The kitty got stuck in the large potato chip bag for hours. Even with solving friends, this cat did a large amount of scratching before her head popped out. Josh continues to find new ways to expand the twilight zone of metas.

This kitty -- with help from other cats not only on this forum, but also in my household -- is out of the bag!

Quite a puzzle! Thanks, Josh!

I've submitted my response. Amazing grid!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

This cat spotted an open window and bolted.

Hats off to madhatter5 for this feat of construction gymnastics! Answer made me smile too.

Josh confirmed I’m getting better at this with a solo solve. I’m all puffed up with pride🤸🏼‍♂️, but not as proud as he should be to have created this meta. Go directly to the Genius Bar, Josh.
And the cat is happy to be out of the bag, and to be out getting a drink. It was hot in there!

From the first, I had an idea, but I set it aside while I looked for something better. Finding nothing, I sent my answer in a PM with subject line "Wrong Answer . . ." and the first line of the message ". . . but I like it."

Guess what. No más esta el gato en la bolsa.

Nudges upon special request! (Usually they come on Saturday)

Notice anything unusual about the grid? What in particular makes it interesting? (Think letter distribution)

When you get the idea of the grid you just have to find the name of the artist that "fits". More specifically the artist is a musician.

Even more specifically you're looking for the name of a rapper.

A swing and a miss. But then the clouds parted. And my cat has been beamed up to the couch on the shore.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Solution:

The grid only uses (all) letters from J to Z, meaning the answer is Jay-Z.
