MEOW #28: Don't Overthink It

A weekly meta crossword on the forum started by member Josh (aka madhatter5). These puzzles are often very creative with solving mechanisms out of the norm and skewing towards the more challenging. Puzzles are posted every Wednesday, and the solution appears the following Tuesday.

All these wonderful pictures! The cat has left the Trader Joe's bag! Pretty neat meta, imo.

Grid completed. I have some choice letters for the mad hatter currently. Unlike dannyvee, I am 3.84615% sure.

That was fun. I'm pretty sure the cat's out of the bag. Fortunately, overthinking has never been a problem with me.

EDIT:
CATwrong-answer.jpg
...again. Sigh.
(And after re-reading carefully, my second guess was more worser. It's a good thing I'm getting new glasses soon  )

Cat seemed to be sleeping but suddenly leapt out, clear into the next room.
Very enjoyable!

Submitted another go. We'll see what happens.

If this doesn't work I'm going to have to start posting cat pictures like everybody else. I do take requests. Long haired, short haired; solid, striped; black, white, orange, brown; yellow, green, odd eyes; sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, sleeping (What?! You try catching them in any other pose!); cat and lizard, cat and squirrel, cat and dog, pile of cats, cat-shaped lump under a blanket, ... Not all combinations are available. Your money back if you're not 100% satisfied.

The rejection crossed this post in the mail. Okey dokey.

I probably don't even have to say this :P but IMHO that's half the fun of all this wacky stuff!

Finally got it! But I needed so much help I am going to leave the cat in the bag until next week. With provisions of course.

Nudge Saturday!

It was very important that in the prompt I wrote "simply a single letter" rather than simply "a single letter"

The letters in the grid, in reading order, form a sequence which follows a certain pattern.

The letters of the grid can be found somewhere outside the grid as well.

I needed all the nudges, so I'm not going to count this as a solve, hence no kit pic.

I, too, needed all three nudges. I was trying to figure out where to go for dinner on Wednesday and the local Japanese place kept coming to mind thanks to the letters in this grid.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

Ah, did not get this one. Nice.

However, spiraling out from the center, it reads MATT SAS IT. If you add a Y, you get "Matt says it," i.e., says "why?" when he's overthinking.
