Good morning Muggles, and welcome to Muggle Meta Monday!

This week’s meta is called “Oh, What a Tangled Web...” As for a rating, I think it’s around a Week 2.5. Please PM me your solution by 10 PM on Saturday, and as has become the custom, I’ll post a couple snapshots of a leaderboard during the week. Feel free to PM me for nudges, but try to stick with it for a couple days first. If nothing else, there’s always Nudge Wednesday.

One correct solver will be chosen at random and will receive an item of his/her choice from my swag bag (a Blarney Rebel Band CD, a Utica Club keepsake, or a $15 donation to a charity of your choice).

Oh, What a Tangled Web (puz)
Oh, What a Tangled Web (pdf)

The answer to this meta is something that's readily available on the Internet.

I am working on the grid but had to post - don't believe they are spoilers but Joe can edit if he needs to

another clue for 38A - "closest US state to Africa"

and 41A - Matt's youngest

and for baseball fans we have = notice the price and that they don't have the answer to 54A

I believe I've got it. Answer submitted. Great puzzle, Al!!

Edit: Confirmed! Learned some new things as well, which I think is kind of the point that I sometimes tend to forget in my haste to solve.

Gaylord Perry vs Tracy Stallard. We all know what Gaylord Perry is famous for... but what about Tracy Stallard?

I think Eric Show was the Tracy Stallard of my generation. "Here comes the 2-1 pitch..."

Tracy Stallard gave up a home run. Who was the TV announcer who called it?

Giving up Maris's 61st HR.

My uncle was the Athletic Director for one of the large Long Island schools and he got us the tickets right behind home plate. the problem was that it was on a Tuesday and went into extra innings - which was not uncommon with the higher mound. After the 13th inning we had to leave because my uncle had to go to work the next (same?) day. We heard the end of the game in the car.

Did you know 30D?

I’ve heard the band. If you win the CD you are in for a real treat.

(1) I didn't get the WSJ puzzle. (2) There were numerous Page One Encroachments despite Our Pal Sal's polite and timely suggestion. (3) I didn't get the MGWCC. Now (4) BASEBALL TRIVIA?!
Then again, on Saturday night Mark and I went out on a double date to dinner and a concert by Patty Larkin (atop our town's parking garage). Live music and socializing puts everything in perspective! (Photo by Larry Brodoway)

I can't think of any place more romantic than a parking garage.
