Off the couch --
That's strange -- isn't it usually a diploma?

OTC. Not difficult but fun. And I've read at least something by all but one, including the answer.

Confirmed. And speaking of shrinks, "I performed 'Sigmund's Melody,' said Tom with sangfroid."

Got it! My stay on the couch was a prolonged one. I wonder how much shrinks are charging these days?
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

I don't think I ever would have gotten DrTom's puzzle (quite apart from any errors I think it was beyond me, but it looked amazing). But I believe I'm off the couch with this one! Fun!

The ones in this puzzle aren't charging much these days, but be warned, their therapeutic style is classically non-directive -- i.e., don't expect them to say much. Other shrinks these days work by Zoom or phone, so maybe there's a discount for having to supply your own couch or chair and Kleenex.

A "shrink" is usually a psychiatrist (MD) who nowadays tend to those who need medical (i.e. pharmaceutical) interventions and charge a lot. Therapists (usually psychology PhDs) let you talk and can give you behavioral modification suggestions. They're much less expensive.

Oh, and I'm off the (proverbial) couch, awaiting confirmation. As for the literal couch, I'm still there...

Seriously, if you (or a loved one) are experiencing depression or anxiety, please try to get help from a psychologist or psychiatrist or therapist. They definitely help. Mental health is as important as physical health, especially nowadays.
