"Can Ya Digit?"

Post by Al Sisti »

Good morning Muggles, and welcome to Muggle Meta Monday!

This week’s meta is called “Can Ya Digit?” As for a rating, I think it’s around a Week 3.3, although it should drop by Nudge Wednesday (or else what’s the point of Nudge Wednesday?). Thanks to Abide and Bird Lives for test solving; they had some useful comments that may well have kept me out of trouble. PM me your solution by 10 PM on Saturday (at least that’s what the beautiful new Meta Calendar says), and as has become the custom, I’ll post a couple snapshots of a leaderboard during the week. Feel free to PM me for nudges, but try to stick with it for a couple days first. If nothing else, there’s always Nudge Wednesday.

One correct solver will be chosen at random and will receive a copy of our Blarney Rebel Band CD “Pile High the Pennywall” (I think I wrote three of the songs, including the title track). Second place gets two copies… hahaha! No, I kid.

The answer to this meta is a number. Good luck!

Awaiting confirmation, but I woke up and rolled off the couch! What a great meta.

Edit: Confirmed to be de-chesterfielded!

Awaiting confirmation - if correct, either I got lucky, or Al overstates the difficulty?

And confirmed. Al thanks for the compliment (see below) but shall see how quickly (or slowly) this one falls.

Off the couch!

And happy to keep rolling around on the floor, chuckling at 1A and others. (If you ask me, the MCU is tired. Disney should now buy the rights to the Cruciverse.)

Terrific puzzle!

I thought this was a great puzzle, even though I was kept one step away from the solution by my lack of cultural knowledge. Apparently the only others who are similarly ignorant are my older brother and a couple of hunter-gatherer tribes deep in the Amazon rainforest.

stumbled getting off the couch....but off the couch I am.

Thought it was a great puzzle, but the earworms I presently have are painful.

I believe I may have just abandoned the couch, waiting for confirmation

EDIT: Well, I was 99% of the way there I just didn't follow through. BUT I am still counting myself among the early solvers because, well because it makes my Monday better. Great puzzle as usual you sly devil.

Now officially couchless!

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Great puzzle. I learned a lot, and may have caught some of the aforementioned earworms...
