"A Change in the Weather"

#1

Post by Bird Lives »

It’s just another manic Monday. (BTW, I just found out that the song was written not by Bangle but by Prince.) And this is just another Muggle Meta – not difficult, not elegant, but mildly diverting. Pay no attention to those postings on the WSJ board these past couple of weeks that reference a similar theme.

The answer is an eight-word saying.

UPDATE: An alert solver (is there any other kind) has found a small error. The clue at 46D should be "The ________ the father." (The second "the" is missing in the clue as published.)

Off the couch!
I enjoyed it a lot, and learned something new in the process.

Off the couch.
Thanks for the wonderful puzzle!
Re Prince, among his many other gifts to other performers, the one I never knew until recently was "I Feel for You" - smash hit for Chaka Khan.

I do tend to overcomplicate the simpler ones. Guilty again. But off the couch now.

I actually had time to do MMM on Monday this week.

I’m off the couch with this very fun and clever puzzle. Thanks, Bird!

(test) solved... Off the couch, a-a-a-and then back on the couch to cozy up and listen to the house rattle against 60 mile an hour winds.
