Know no End

#1

Post by DrTom »

So, I’m back with what I hope is a much better puzzle than last time. As per usual I had a lot of help but I think it really made for a better puzzle. Oh, and you don’t have to worry about the allergeny death anagrams; I won’t do that again (well except for this intro of course). Plus I had to eliminate all my good puns that I had painted on the ceiling before the puzzle would be allowed in the Sisti-ene Chapel.

I’d say this is about a solid 2 but I’d imagine that is going to vary by solver. I will post some nudges on Wednesday if people need them.

In the meantime, please enjoy. PM me with your answers/questions and I will try to keep a leader board. Bear with me because I am working Thursday and Friday so I’ll be slow to post after Wednesday.

I finally got to see an MMM puzzle early on Monday! Being in Israel I usually see it much later in the day.
DrTom - Thanks for posting early - it was almost an MMS!
I solved the grid on the bus ride on the way to work, and the meta on my lunch break. I'm a little uncertain about a couple of things - I'll wait for confirmation.
Great puzzle! Thanks!

Edit: Confirmation received - off the couch!

I submitted. Now it’s just a waiting game.....
And we have leapt off the settee. Lots of wonderful clues right in my wheelhouse cuz I’m not as young as the cabana boy.

Whoops! A solver pointed out that I forgot to include the meta hint in the initial post. It is:

The answer to the meta is something that can be Read or Red.

Though judging but the early solvers I think most of you either won't need it or have found it in the online versions. Sorry for the boo boo. Off to the Dermatologist (important for Floridians) I'll post a leader board when I get back!

Submitted, pretty sure I got it.

Usually I don't go for odd humor in puzzles but I loved this one. And the mechanism was great. (Maybe I'm biased because I figured it out, though...)

Nice mechanism, very clever all around. I have filled the cup.

Late start, but loads of fun. The grid took me forever, and there was a groan each step of the way. I am off the couch.
