A weekly meta crossword created by members of the forum. Difficulty levels will vary. Hints are usually available starting Wednesday, and solutions are posted on Sunday.
These are challenging weekly metas constructed by yours truly. Puzzles are posted on Wednesdays and solutions are posted Tuesdays. I just want to express my thanks to our mutual overlord Brian Mac for creating the subforum, and I hope it will be a success!
That was a fun puzzle and surprisingly came to me quickly. Loved the mechanism, Muggles always seem to have something new up their sleeve.

"I hope you all have color printers for this one"My printer is B&W and when I saw the grid, I was concerned that the shaded squares would be too dark. They are fine; they came out medium gray. No trouble weeing the numbers...
I too had that previous solving (or, rather, solving only by means of a shove from another solver) experience that made getting this one ultimately easier than it otherwise would have been. Still, I didn't recall the previous experience for quite some time, and hence my aha moment here was still very satisfying.
