"Gather Ye Rose Buds"

Good Monday Morning!

Well, it's gonna be a tough act to follow @Abide's puzzle.

This one goes out to @MaineMarge and the stern crew cultivators, which, as Dave Barry would say, would make an excellent name for a rock group.
It's another one of those quirky things. You'll need to use a bit of "artistic license" while solving, as I did when constructing. But remember that in the end, spelling counts!

It's been minimally test-solved, primarily by my daughter who only recently has started trying her hand at metas. So bad news, there may be a slight glitch or two, but good news, it is definitely solvable if a newbie can do it. (Although she claims she has an unfair advantage having grown up knowing how my head works!)

The prompt for this meta is -
A Place to Stroll.

PM me with any questions or answers.

Thanks once again to @Joe Ross for the "translations" below.

Off the couch and out to- where else??- the garden, to check out the view from a more appropriate seat.

Off the couch!

Can someone explain "stern crew cultivators"? Is that "stern" as in "strict" or as in "opposite of aft"? "Crew" is gang or bunch of workers or group of seamen? "Cultivators" = people who cultivate or tools that people use to cultivate? ((Stern crew) cultivators) or (Stern (crew cultivators))?
