Be careful or I might add some coordinate geometry or vectors in the future!! #mathnerd
59D. That would be much easier for me than TV or Movie anything, modern slang, or texting abbreviations.

I think I'm off the couch. Dude cracks me up 😝

Edit: I am not off the couch. One really should read the directions, shouldn't one?

Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

I believe I have extracted myself from the furniture that was holding my puzzled body, unfortunately not without a little help. Still I'll take it. Not confirmed yet but it really can be nothing else. Slick mechanism.

CONFIRMED: OFF THE COUCH!
Granted I had to have someone grab me by the arms and help pull me out but still.....

My chuckle for the day:

Really fun meta that tested our solving skills.
Big hint got me off the couch and in the right direction to the garden.

This Venosa Violacea clematis couldn’t decide whether to go upwards or sideways, so I let her go in both directions. Enlarge to admire her delicate coloration.

As yet unconfirmed, but if I'm wrong the letters I found are an incredible coincidence.
Kicking myself for needing a wee bit of help and for needing a second or third reading to get the joke in the clue for 7D ("What a Dumas character.")

ANd kickin MYSLEF for not getting this until I read Bird's post and thought "What" and realized I am a Dumas character myself!

In addition to being humorous and verbose, Mikey G is stingy with the hints. I sent him an email.

I sent a direct message asking about the Wednesday hints. My Outbox is empty to I have to assume he received it. I will start asking people directly for nudges tomorrow if I have not cracked the code by then.

It took a village to push me off the couch --

I so enjoy the fun of solving Mikey's grids that I''m happy to finally see the very well camouflaged (like some of my buddies above?) answer also!

Mikey how hard you gonna make us work?? It’s Wednesday! People are tired!

Yes, figured out what I needed to look for, looked hard for them, found them, correct number of them … but now what?? Will take nudges if anyone’s online and wants to turn the porch light on for me. I have to be close.

UPDATE edit: never mind — i get it. Submitting answer now. Cute. And if I’m wrong I think I will like my answer better than the right answer.

By Jove, I think I've got it. Off the couch almost for sure.
