Sorry for the scheduling snafu - it was entirely on my end. MikeyG's puzzle will run next week, so in the meantime enjoy this puzzle from madhatter!

Thanks,

And I'm just getting into the Monday metas and notice that madhatter very kindly gave me a shout-out on his previous post - too kind! I'll solve this one and then his previous one, since I'm a completist, haha.

Happy Monday! Metas make them better.

Whew, got it! Kind of amazing to see 34 themers in a 15x15 grid. A ton of work to get to a very apt result. Definitely worth it if you have the time.

Getting the pieces took a while, but it took me even longer to figure out how to arrange them. I need to check out the tips thread and see if we have a list of "ways of arranging pieces." I had thought I'd exhausted the natural ways, but I hadn't.

I see step one, but I'm going to have to hire a research assistant to get the data so I can figure out step two.

Solved and submitted.

I was initially handicapped as I was not aware of a key resource which is very useful for this meta.
Divide and conquer is a good way to solve.

Even with certain handy available features, this is a bit of a slog... I still haven't hit on exactly the right thing to do with all the information, so that's part of my problem. I might have to give this one a miss, sorry @madhatter5! It is quite an impressive puzzle, as far as I can tell!

Yeah, if you feel (like maybe Bird does) that you know what info you need and can imagine it being readily available in one place if someone would just have put in the serious effort, know that they've generously done just that for you. Google might lead you to it, but feel free to reach out for a nudge if not. You shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel for this one.

It is nice to know that this resource is available. Without this puzzle I might never have found it.

Okay. Finished the grid. And figured out step 1. Now slogging through, gathering info to try to figure out the next step. Need a break though....

Got the idea (cool!) and the method (neat!), with the help of a friendly fellow Muggle. But working through to the full solution will need to wait until tomorrow (if at all), because I really want to dig back into my stack of summer reading.

With some muggle-help, I finally finished and submitted. Very clever mechanism for finding the meta. A very boring baseball game, which we are losing, was a good background for solving this baby.

Oh, okay. I have an idea but not sure how everything connects. We'll see what happens.
