DELIGHTED to sign on this evening (after signing on this morning) to find that there was, in fact, a MMM!

Off the couch.

Thank you for your efforts today, Jay.

Confirmed with Bird Lives that I am off the couch. Now I need to get out of the recliner and into the bed before I fall asleep again.

I agree - this grid was a tough one for me! But I might have cracked the meta - we'll see!
Less cross words, more crosswords.

Off the couch and into the office. (At least the A/C is cranking on a soon-to-be-steamy Pennsylvania Tuesday.) Thank you, Jay, for another delightful challenge. Where WOULD we be without such inventive co-Muggles?

Submitted a WAG & waiting, but without much hope of being correct...

WAG was correct getting me off of the couch, but I have a bone to pick with myself...

Hector wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 7:21 pm Solid grid and meta, especially under such pressure. Thanks, Bird; enjoy your time down the shore!

Just in case someone wonders whether these things have something to do with the meta, they don't: there's a (slightly) misspelled surname, it's Pitchin' Paul, "Skeptic" in the 6D clue is just a cut&paste-o or something.
Yeah I was skeptical of that!

I think there's also a typo in the clue for 60D. With some finagling I was able to figure it out (the answer to 60D) though. Thanks for the meta!

60D - man you are proactive, you must be solving next week's puzzle cause there are only 58 Down clues (either that or Bird cheated me on my printout - hey that's not FARE! :D

(I think you mean 6D yes? Obviously part of a different clue or earlier clue that got caught in the cut and paste shuffle.)

Sofa, so good - but better to be off my sofa than my rocker (OK, now Y'all STOP that, I can actually HEAR you commenting in your mind!)

Off the couch but not out of trouble, see below.....

No, I meant 30D, not 60D or 6D!

Grid complete and working the meta now. I smiled when I saw 27A. I worked there in the 80's as a co-op student in central FL where they made telephone switches for small markets. Hopefully not a spoiler! They had wonderful craftsman in Rochester, NY when they made console TV's by hand.
