Film Fare

Post by Bird Lives »

Is it still Monday?

Sorry for the delay, but both Brian and I are on vacation, and lines of communication fell victim to the wilds of northern Michigan (I think) and the sands of the Jersey shore.

Anyway, today’s puzzle was put together in haste and has not had the benefit of our usual keen-eyed editor/test-solvers. Despite whatever typos and other glitches might cause it to lose points, and despite the delayed posting, you’ll probably get this one before the sun has even begun to think about setting.

PM me with your answer. My reply might be slow in coming as I can't get the Internet at the beach.

The answer is an award-winning movie.

Thanks for taking time out from your vacations to do this! Above and beyond the call of duty. I do have to admit that I have checked for a new puzzle 5 (or 20) times.

Solid grid and meta, especially under such pressure. Thanks, Bird; enjoy your time down the shore!

Just in case someone wonders whether these things have something to do with the meta, they don't: there's a (slightly) misspelled surname, it's Pitchin' Paul, "Skeptic" in the 6D clue is just a cut&paste-o or something.

What a nice surprise to return from vacation to find a fun puzzle by someone on his vacation. Above and beyond.
Edit: Confirmed off the couch.

🧨 💥 Nice job Jay! Think I may finally have to watch this award-winning movie.
