Wow! This should be a higher tier in the 3AM club - those who solve the contest as soon as it appears.

Banana's peeled. It was indeed a good puzzle.
Better than the last one - but that's just because I couldn't figure that one out!

One of those where the first step is a doozy, but then you're home free. Nice.

A few weeks ago I won the meta contest and was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I received the prize I asked for:

Nice! I didn’t even know they had mugs.

I didn’t know either, but it never hurts to ask.

Is this one still live or did I miss the deadline?

It just came out last Tuesday, so there should be near another week to submit.

Hmm; I just asked for an extension of the Joon OTB puzzle subscription. Maybe I need to switch over to the FMI mug...

Hello solvers,

The solution to this week's puzzle was CIDER.

The five long entries each ended with letters that could almost spell a word preceding BEER:
  • DATE OF BIRTH (BIRCH)
  • DOPPELGANGER (GINGER)
  • AMUSEMENT PARK (DARK)
  • NORTH AMERICA (RICE ... or as one solver pointed out, ICE)
  • HAND AND FOOT (ROOT)
The altered letters are, in order, C-I-D-E-R.

There's a new contest puzzle, and a new post in this forum for it. I hope you give it a try!
