This is an excellent variety cryptic that yields a bonus answer, to be submitted for a 2020 leader board. (Since it's my first 1Across puzzle, I doubt that I'll rank high!) The constructor is from Bahrain, so you may encounter unfamiliar terms. I had to google to confirm one entry, and there are three that I still don't have. But don't let that dissuade you. I'm finding that I enjoy expanding my cultural horizons with puzzles from other places. Have fun!
