Enjoy!

Edit: pretty straightforward for a C&R variety, no? (or are we just getting more and more familiar with their style?)

You’re leaving us hanging! Do tell.

I was single, in my late 20's and hanging with my girlfriends at a local bar that had 23a. Hours and hours. Tell the waitress not to interrupt me! Fingers flying!

I like how everything in this one gradually came together for me — the title, the unclued entry, the drop-in letters themselves, the whole idea — even if it was relatively easy for a HEX.

Fun!

Good puzzle with minimal resistance. Laughed at the 19d clue!

Agreed, I liked this one. Not too hard but great cluing as always.

Fun puzzle! I slowed down a little in the southwest corner, but still made it through in good time.

Could someone please explain 24D? (Spoiler tag or PM me)?

Figured out the rest without too much fuss. I’m definitely getting better at these, but still a long way to go.

Hello all, I'm getting back to puzzles after a hiatus and I have forgotten where to find the answers to the variety puzzles. Still looking for the solution to last week's 'Cash Boxes'. Thx

It usually shows up on the page with the original puzzle, but it looks like they missed last week’s. It’s also in the print edition.

Hope it’s ok to spoil since it’s been a week.

I finally got it! Had a lot more trouble than previous posters. 24D mentioned above was my last challenge. I think the last two cryptics came much more easily to me than this one. Couldn’t seem to get on the right train of thought for the clue! So glad to finish this one!

Finally knew what to look for after I got enough downs to cross 23A to solve the secret clue. Sideways thinking always takes you to interesting places! Do HEX have day jobs or is this all they do?

38A was my last fill, because I didn’t have 100% confirmation on it, though it has to be what I’m virtually sure it is.

Enjoyed this puzzle, and thought the circled letters were delightfully clever.
