How to mention someone

#1

Post by BrianMac »

You can thank @Joe Ross, @Abide and @Al Sisti for suggesting this feature. Now, when you type the @ symbol and begin typing someone's username, a drop-down menu will appear with choices. You can select one of the names and that person will be "tagged," meaning they will receive a notification that they have been mentioned in a post. Feel free to experiment in this thread.

@Dannyvee

Yes. I didn't wait or the drop down menu. That must be why. I just tried you above.

Oops wrong section. Moving this to the "FAQ - Technical" section.

It sounds like you guys have it figured out. You have to click on the name from the drop down menu to get it to work. Just typing @ and a username doesn't do it.

Also, I just noticed it doesn't work in the "Quick Reply" box. You have to be in the "Full Editor" box.
Never mind -- seems to work fine in "Quick Reply."

I wonder if you can @Cap'n Rick yourself?

Edit: I didn't receive any notification, so I guess not.

Yes, @Cap'n Rick, you have tagged me; but you already have my email address, landline, and cell phone numbers. What's up? As we live only 0.5 miles apart, perhaps while driving along the coast on Bass Point Road you made the wrong turn and are now ASEA?
